Polytec are looking for a Senior RF Engineer for our Cambridge based client to design current and next generation products by taking RF and Hardware circuit designs from simulation to production ready equipment.

Responsibilities:

* Design and development of RF systems / sub-systems to component level, to 40GHz and beyond
* Embedded systems and embedded software design
* Full Hardware lifecycle from system concept, through detailed design and prototyping, test and verification, system integration and support in production
* RF/Microwave circuit design, analysis, and system simulation, including Yield and Monte-Carlo analysis to ensure design are robust
* Design verification and validation testing
* Test and debugging of development and production hardware to verify performance
* Manage system thermal and EMC issues
* Provide technical support to design, test, and manufacturing
* Produce design documentation to allow long term support of the product

Requirements:

* Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
* At least 5 years' proven, practical experience in RF research and development
* Recent, demonstrable RF design experience of receiver design using LNAs, mixers, switches, synthesizers and filters, up to at 20GHz (ideally 40+GHz)
* Excellent analogue circuit design knowledge
* Experience in the layout of RF and microwave PCBs in high-speed designs
* Experience in using microcontrollers and SOC devices
* Experience in writing embedded software in C
* Knowledge of bus protocols PCle, SPI, I2C, Ethernet
* Experience in taking RF and Hardware designs from development to production ready
* Use of Altium for schematic capture and PCB design
