Scientist (Device Physics) Sensor Systems

The client based close to Huntingdon Cambridgeshire is seeking a scientist to work on sensor systems devices.The role is to develop organic electronics devices (OEDs) and integrated systems.

To improve the performance of component technologies such as light emitting diodes and photo diodes. Develop fabrication processes with compatibility for integration.

To develop such components to be incorporated into prototype devices in order to effectively address a range of applications & generate ideas and further widen the application space of the company's technologies in the scope of sensor systems.

Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science is essential.
Demonstrable and solid knowledge of semiconductor physics
A track record of technical expertise in semiconductor physics is highly desirable.

Experience of working with hybrid systems comprising silicon components and/or printed materials such as conductors and insulators would be an advantage.
Particular skills of relevance are: device fabrication and testing, interconnection fabrication and integrity testing, working on flexible/plastic substrates.

Experience of conducting scientific research in the field of printed semiconductors or organic device electronics is highly desirable.
Experience of the deposition and characterisation of thin films via surface analysis and electrical characterisation techniques and correlating film properties
to device performance is highly desirable.

An enthusiastic, inventive and an aptitude for experimental work is essential.
Good problem-solving skills and an ability to maintain confidentially of highly sensitive data is essential.
An understanding of the particular demands of target-driven industrial research is highly desirable.
An ability and willingness to work towards critical deadlines is essential.

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and the ability to report back results accurately and in a timely manner is essential.
Good team-playing skills and the ability to operate in multi-disciplinary/cross-functional teams is essential.
The ability to demonstrate an adaptable and flexible approach to work in a dynamic and changing environment is essential.
Good organisation skills in order to work and produce results in a timely manner is essential.
Ability to show attention to detail and to keep accurate and traceable records is essential.
