Polytec are seeking a Senior Design & Development Engineer to take innovative concepts from early prototype through to refined, manufacturable products. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role ideal for an engineer who loves building, experimenting, problem-solving and rapidly iterating within workshop and R&D environments.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype and develop new products
• Use CAD software to produce detailed designs, refine concepts and support rapid prototyping
• Build, test and iterate physical prototypes to improve performance and reliability
• Solve complex engineering challenges with practical, creative solutions
• Improve product durability, efficiency, manufacturability and overall design
• Work hands-on in workshop and R&D facilities to accelerate product development cycles
Requirements
• Strong hands-on engineering skills and a passion for building and problem-solving
• Proficiency with CAD software
• Solid understanding of engineering principles and the ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
• Experience taking products from concept through prototype to production
• Proactive, self-driven mindset with excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Must be able to work onsite in workshop/R&D facilities five days a week
