Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards 2023 finalists announced

The finalists for the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards 2023 have been announced.

Cambridge Independent revealed the finalists last week, saying the “shortlist represents an extraordinary array of talent across sectors from cleantech to AI, and ranges from promising early-stage companies to established big-hitters”.

Now in its sixth year, the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards attracted a record number of entries this year from across the region.

This year’s awards will take place on Thursday, May 18 at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Nominees will be offered free tickets and anyone else wishing to attend can secure a spot via Eventbrite.

On the night, attendees will get the opportunity to network with each other and some of the Cambridge region’s most innovative and entrepreneurial individuals.

Editor Paul Brackley, chair of the judges, said: “It has been terrific to hear about the achievements of these organisations and individuals.

“Well done to all those who made it on to the shortlist in a very competitive field, and thank you to everyone who entered. It is clear that Cambridge innovation shows no sign of abating.

“I would also like to thank all the judges who have given up their time and shared their expertise as we pored over the entries. The awards will be another demonstration of just why the Cambridge region is exceptional.”

The only award category that was not open for nomination this year was the In Search of Wonder Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Waterbeach-based JDJ Creative.

The winner of this award – recognising one individual’s outstanding long-term achievements in the Cambridge region – will be revealed on the night, along with all of the other winners.
