» Senior Scientist - Test

Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Scientist, Test.

Your role will be to develop and improve device testing process to maximise yield and throughput whilst enhancing data quality. Devise and implement device characterisation methods to better support internal and external customers. Ensure equipment calibration and traceability of light measurement equipment. Liaise with internal customers to ensure problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

You will manage routine testing of devices to achieve maximum efficiency from existing resources and equipment.

Manage calibration and traceability of equipment. Drive the enhancement of test capability through improvement of test reliability and accuracy and the development and implementation of new test methods.

Effectively troubleshoot issues / liaise with internal customers, analyse and interpret device results and present outcome to customers as require.
You will line management of small team of Technical Assistants and Operators.

On a daily basis ensure that the staff and equipment resources are best utilised to meet company objectives and ensure traceable calibration of equipment used for electrical and optical measurement equipment and reporting of results.

You will manage process improvement and yield monitoring of POLED device assembly and testing as well as troubleshoot and resolve problems raised by internal customers. Perform analysis of problems and implement corrective actions.

You will support the development of non standard testing as requested.

Heath & Safety – ensure risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures are completed and adhered too. Ensure adequate training is given.

Ensure equipment upkeep and development of new test equipment, in collaboration with project teams devise and implement suitable test methods.

Essential skills:

A self motivated individual with good leadership and communication skills. You will preferably have a PhD (or a degree with equivalent experience) in a related discipline such as Electronics / Optoelectronics / Physics / Optics and significant experience in an industrial environment. You will also have a working knowledge of optical / light measurement or device analysis. Attention to detail with a track record of process improving (troubleshooting, efficiency improvement).

Desirable

• Ideally experience in OLED/display characterisation.
• Ideally experience in line management.
• Ideally experience in statistical analysis and programming.

Godmanchester Cambridgeshire | Salary range: £35,000 to 38,000
