» Senior Project Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager, who is specialised in mechanical design with a working knowledge of Solidworks.

Purpose and Scope of the Job
* To convert conceptual designs into working prototypes and delivered units, to satisfy the specifications laid down for the relevant development programmes.
* To assume management accountability and leadership responsibilities for each allocated project to deliver results of each on time and within budget.
* To play an active role in the on-going development of the project management functions and processes within the clients organisation.

Key Tasks
* Drive and manage individual projects as directed by the Development Director.
* Oversee and support multiple projects.
* Participate in setting, and then manage, Project Milestones to deliver completed projects on time and within budget.
* Schedule, allocate and manage resources (internal and external) to ensure project milestones are satisfied.
* Act as the key focal point for the design to manufacture, and post manufacture, milestones for individual projects being managed.
* Take direction and input from the research projects, participate in generation of specifications and convert the project objectives into "product reality".
* Manage the Development and Production aspects of the allocated projects.
* Provide pre-sales, post-sales and technical support as required.
* Introduce a common methodology that will embrace but improve on current working practices.
* Establish a 'centre of excellence' for the delivery of project-specific technology solutions incorporating the company's technology.
* Introduce and implement an appropriate standard project management methodology and procedure to support the delivery programme.
* Manage and direct the design engineering and development standards necessary for individual project success.
* Conduct regular project reviews and submit project reports for Management review.
* Work closely with the Management Team to input, as required, to the company's business planning process.
* Provide support, guidance and direction to your project team members so that an effective and innovative delivery process is achieved.
* Monitor project performance against agreed project plans, milestones and budgets.
* Initiate corrective action as necessary.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with key colleagues, partners and clients through appropriate liaison and communication to ensure a timely delivery from project programmes.
