		<title>Technical Assistant- RandD Support Group</title>
		<description>Our clients are seeking a technical assistant for 6 months to provide support within RandD Support Group. You will be working on polymer solution and ink preparation, substrates preparation and inspection, spin coating of polymer solutions, cathode deposition and encapsulation, batch processing of high quality spin-coated LEP device layers, and device assembly and testing. You will be qualified to HNC or above, in a Physical Science, such as Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science. Applicants with significant experience in detailed laboratory work or high tech manufacturing may also be considered. Experience of Windows XP and Microsoft Office is very desirable as they will be used daily.The role is working on a rotating shift pattern: Shift A 6.30am-2.30pm Monday-Friday and Shift B 2.00pm -10.00pm Monday-Thursday and 12.00pm -8.00pm on Friday.  There is a 20% shift premium on top of the basic salary.</description>

They help major international clients to explore new market opportunities, to find technology for product and process innovation, and to identify possible partners to fast track product development and market execution.They wish to increase their portfolio of Freelance Consultant Analysts for a wide range of projects.  The successful applicants should have a higher degree in biology, chemistry or chemical engineering.  Experience in a business analysis/market research environment is advantageous but not essential. Fluency in JAPANESE, SPANISH or PORTUGUESE is ESSENTIAL. An interest in the application of science in a business environment is essential. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake primary research (telephone research), secondary research (published information), analyse information and prepare reports/presentations on new and emerging technologies.  It will be necessary for applicants to have worked with standard computer programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.  Experience of secondary information research, particularly using the World Wide Web as well as commercial/scientific databases (PubMed, Scopus, Delphion, Kompass, Profound, Web of Science) would also be of advantage.  Rates of pay will be subject to experience.</description>

		<title>Scientist, Chemistry</title>
		<description>***This is a 9-months temporary contract, covering maternity leave***Job purpose- To improve the performance of materials by designing and preparing new monomers, polymers or small molecules to a high quality with excellent record keeping - To support other members of the research team, support the HandS program and assist with the day-to-day running of the laboratories	Main Activities- Identification, development, successful synthesis and characterisation of new and existing monomer and polymer systems- Perform simple and complex synthetic organic chemistry transformations on small and large scale as required- Preparation of monomers and polymers to a high standard, to accurately proposed and agreed timescales, with high quality documentation and reporting- Full characterization of all monomers and intermediates prepared and as appropriate highlight anomalies in results- Write, initiate and lead high quality focused studies/mini projects with sound scientific hypothesis to deliver upon RandD targets to agreed timescales- Write, initiate, adapt and follow scientific procedures and protocols- Prepare results in a timely and accurate manner in the required format (written, verbal, formal presentation)- Communicate effectively with synthetic chemists, material scientists, and project leaders- Responsibility for maintaining a tidy and efficient laboratory environment and for ensuring health and safety standards are met and maintained- A good track record of safe working in a laboratory environment, perform safety, COSHH and risk assessments of all chemical processes- Functional duties as requiredKnowledge/ experience required:- Chemistry PhD or equivalent in industrial or academic environment- Excellent synthetic practical laboratory experience- Computer literacy is essential. Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office products and chemical drawing packages will be advantageousIn addition, the following attributes are required: - Strong team-playing skills and the ability to operate in multi-disciplinary/cross-functional team- An ability to work unsupervised for long periods without losing touch with the aims of the team- Strong organisation skills, good time management and attention to detail- Strong communication skills across scientific disciplines- Knowledge of polymers and relevant analytical techniques would be usefulSalary is between £27K-£35K pro-rata, depending on experience</description>
