» Physicist/Product Development Engineer

Working in a highly creative, technical environment, you will have a leading role in contributing to solutions on a wide variety of challenging projects, from the initial concept and analytical stages through to prototype delivery and manufacturing introduction.

To be successful, you will have an excellent understanding of science and engineering principles as applied to product development. You will be able to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams working in a wide range of technical disciplines, and be able to deliver demanding projects to high quality, on time and on budget. You must be self-motivated, comfortable with presenting your work and ideas to clients and very adaptable.

You will ideally have:-
- 1st or 2:1 from a leading university in Physics or complementary engineering discipline
- Strong creativity coupled with an analytical and enquiring mind
- Excellent communication skills
- Preferably some experience in one of our principal industry sectors, gained either in industry or in a consultancy, but our main driver is enthusiasm and ability

The role:-
- Take a core role in product development teams, including concept creation, proof of principle, detailed design, test and transfer to production
- You should be comfortable with contributing to those aspects of projects which cover the analytical, creative and development aspects of mechanics, fluids, thermodynamics, control engineering, structures and design for manufacture
- You must be comfortable working in a flexible and technically demanding commercial environment where client needs are paramount to the success of the business
- You will be keen to develop your career to take on more project management and business development responsibilities over time
