» Fibre Optic Assembly Production Engineer

Summary of responsibilities:
Developing and continuously supporting a highly efficient and technically
superior optical fibre termination production capability, for specialized fibre optic applications including data, telecoms harsh environment and industrial applications. Reporting to the Production Manager


Minimum Experience/Education:

It is essential that the candidate is highly self motivated and can work
effectively under minimal supervision.

BS+ in mechanical engineering, physics, fibre optics etc.

5-8 years of Fibre Optics related experience, in particular
in connectorization/termination/harnessing for enterprise/data-centre/
military/telecom applications including common and specialized
single and multi-fibre products

Strong knowledge of optical fibre end face polishing techniques, cleaving
processes, and optical testing including automation

Familiar with F.O. packaging technologies.

Opto-mechanical expertise is preferred.

Knowledge of copper CAT- 5 + other copper enterprise products useful
but not essential.

Ability to work effectively and multitask within a strong team often under very tight time-lines and commercial pressures within a small high growth rate company environment.

Capacity to organize a production area, identify and procure equipment
to maximize outputs
Ability to train, organize and lead a team of technicians
Good communication skills
Proven effective problem solving and project management skills
