Software Support Specialist

 

Our client, based in Cambridge is seeking a Software Support Specialist with experience in troubleshooting technical issues in Windows or Linux based environments.

Fluency in English and German is essential.

Description
As Software Support Specialist you will provide first-class technical support for our client's solutions, with a focus on their scientific informatics platform. Providing timely, accurate and comprehensive responses to customer issues throughout Europe via email, telephone and on-site customer visits as required, you will be a key member of the European support team and consistently demonstrate advanced problem solving and investigative skills in resolving customer issues.

Working closely with leading industry and academic researchers in a consultative support role, you will also act as a liaison to our Product Development and marketing teams regarding customer reported issues, software testing, customer training and scientific validation.

Key Requirements
The ideal candidate should have relevant related industry experience as well as a degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Computational Biology/Chemistry, or Bioinformatics. Due to the high customer facing nature of this role, the position requires outstanding interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.

Experience in troubleshooting technical issues in Windows or Linux based environments is required. Experience with Oracle databases would be an advantage. Working knowledge of Java and JavaScript based web application development is desired. Expertise with scientifically based software systems is highly desired.

Travel may be required for up to 15% of the time.
