Systems Technician
Our client, based in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit a Systems Technician to carry out final build and testing of their product range. Candidates will be required to fault find and repair products and PCBs at component level.
Core Areas of Focus:
* The Systems Technician will be expected to work within the systems technicians' team in the testing of high end products. This will involve an element of systems built and testing. Developing to Product Specialist.
* Fault finding to component level is essential, working closely with the development team to find solutions to PCB faults and equipment faults.
The role requires someone who has a flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to develop then role through further training.
Key Responsibilities:
* Systems final build and testing of our client's high End Product Range
* Testing of products (complete instruments, systems and PCBs following standards procedures)
* Loading and testing of relevant software to meet customers' specifications
* Fault find and repair products and PCBs at component level
* Provide technical feedback to improve product quality
* Provide feedback to support process improvements and cost reductions
* Provide necessary information to support supplier returns of faulty products
* Maintain good stock controls through relevant procedures
* New Product Introduction. Assistance R&D in the transition of new products to assembly and test, in particular prototype build and test
Skills and Experience
* HNC or equivalent in an Electronic or Electro/Mechanical Engineering subject. NVQ levels 3-4.
* 2-3 years experience within test/systems build environment e.g. testing systems, mechanical fitting, panel wiring etc.
* The reading of mechanical drawings and Electronics Circuit Diagrams
* Fault Finding to Component Level
* Computer literate with knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook operating systems MS-DOS
* Knowledge of MRP Systems and various databases
* Experience working in a ISO9001 quality standards company
