How we work
We are proud to be members of the REC – the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, and as such follow the best practises laid down by them for the Recruitment Industry.
Under ideal circumstances, we would like to receive a formal Job Specification for the position sought, however if this is not available, and this is often the case for a temporary position, we will draw up a specification for you. Your vacancy will be ‘live’ on our website within 1-2 hours of registering it with us, unless you specifically request us not to post it.
Temporary Positions
When you are working with Polytec on your temporary recruitment needs, we guarantee that several, not just one, of our consultants will be fully up to speed with your requirements. You will never be told to call back because your only point of contact is 'out to lunch' or 'on holiday today', - we understand that your temporary positions need filling urgently.
As soon as we have an understanding of your temporary job requirement, and having agreed the rates for the post, we will begin searching. Confirmation contracts will be issued to client and candidate when you have made your selection.
Processing hundreds of 'temps' timesheets every week, we operate our own in house payroll system, which enables us to cater for a range of invoicing requirements. Simply call us to discuss your needs and we will endeavour to meet them.
Permanent Positions
When recruiting for permanent positions, one of our technically trained consultants will discuss your requirements with you in detail. This may be in person by way of a pre-arranged visit to your premises, or over the telephone.
Being located centrally between Cambridge's Science and Business Parks,
we of course always welcome visitors to our offices, should that be more convenient for our clients.
Because each of our consultants has an exclusive candidate base, it enables them to really ‘know’ our applicants. In this way we are not only able to locate candidates with the necessary technical and academic experience, but also be confident that when they arrive for interview, their personal profile will fit with the culture of your company.
Above all, we aim to provide a flexible and efficient service to our clients. Should you wish us to limit the number of candidates that we put forward for a vacancy, then we are happy to provide this level of 'pre-selection'. However we are also aware that the 'last minute applicant' may be the perfect candidate for the role, and so the judgement of our consultants can be crucial in getting the best candidate for the job.
